Countable vs Uncountable Nouns
Nouns can be categorized by whether they can be counted as individual items or not.
Countable Nouns
Things we can count using numbers. They have singular and plural forms.
Singular: a car, one dog, an idea Plural: two cars, many dogs, several ideas
Uncountable Nouns
Things we cannot count individually. They do not have a plural form and cannot take 'a' or 'an'.
Examples: water, air, knowledge, advice, furniture
Quantifiers
- Countable: many, a few, several (e.g., many books)
- Uncountable: much, a little, some (e.g., much water)
